Well, I was right - that block which I originally saw over on
soscrappy, does look good in batiks and blacks... I started a few the other evening, and finished 6 today - there are also 6 more in progress, up to about the first leg of the outer batik round. I reckon 12 of these (12" blocks finished) will make a nice little top...

Really effective in black and batiks - love 'em :)
That is breathtakingly beautiful -- looks like a jewel box!!
It's really such a "Kate" block, I hope this little top will be a keeper.
Oh yes, I am loving that!
Kate, I love these blocks! Too pretty! Looks like a stained glass window.
I also like the new blog title and the banner.
what a good project for using the the bin of batik scraps I can't seem to part with!
Gorgeous colors. And I have to agree it has a stained glass look to it.
I like those blocks a lot! That might be a good use for my hand dyed scraps too.
Batiks looks soooo dramatic against black background! Those blocks look awesome!!

I love this, it reminds me of stained glass.
This is going to look gorgeous!
The batik fabric starts to shine, because you added the dark stripes, that looks very nice.

Very pretty - they will make a lovely quilt!
Awesome blocks. I love black borders, I find it brings out the other colors so much brighter.
