Cross-stitch nemesis

Someone asked for an update on the Christmas nemesis - the top picture shows where it was after last holiday season, and the bottom, a few days ago (I'm done stitching it for the season).

Not a lot of progress has been made, frankly, mainly because I had flu in December and even when I began to feel better, this was too intricate for my brain to handle - I probably lost 3 weeks of stitching time on this project that way - and when you only work on something for 5 or 6 weeks a year, well, that's a lot. Excuses, excuses! Anyway, perhaps next year will see more progress. I really should get the red angel's face done, as it's slightly disturbing that she's all blank...

Progress is progress! I say take your time because when this is done you might make the mistake of starting another cross stitch project!

i wonder how many other Christmas stitchery projects there are that are seasonal wip's. I have one that I haven't touched in a few years now but worked on it only at Christmas time. 3 girls are dancing in a circle holding hands in front of a decorated tree. Of course, I have 3 girls and I was going to change hair colours to match theirs. My oldest is 28. boo hoo

A few years ago daughter and I had a blitz on all the ufo tapestry and needlepoint projects I had going. Of course she had enthusiasm to just dive in but I found just setting area goals like finishing a border side etc worked for me. We did it and in the year I think I had about 20 pieces finished. Her help was invaluable though. Good luck with finishing it, one day!

Every stitch helps. The fact that you actually pulled the project out and worked on it some more is what counts.
