ATC Friday

These are round robin cards where I was the starter - I really like this card, which started off quite abstract, and then gained vases and flowers.  The background is actually from Sarah's old art portfolio for GCSE art. Some of the studies make great backgrounds.

ATC Tuesday

These cards were all for a "Trash to Treasure" Swap - someone sends you an envelope of bits and pieces, and you have to use some of them to make your cards. There's usually rule about how many you need to use, which varies, though I try to use as many as I can, if they make sense. More fun that way.  You can add your own stuff, too, of course.

Sneak Peek 2

And here's another Cotton Robin Sneak Peek - this one is of the quilt which I quilted and bound. I wouldn't normally work on two of them two days running, but the previous round had actually been lost in the post, and then was returned to the sender and re-sent to me, so I got it much later than I should have. Just glad it wasn't lost.

Sneak peek

These were some fabrics which might have played a part in a round for the Cotton Robin round robin. I can't show the whole thing yet, just a tiny hint. I'll show the proper round later.

ATC Friday

These sets of round robin cards are all ones where I was the third (and last) person to work on them.  So the cards come to me nearly finished, and I just finish them off. By the time it gets to the third player, the theme is pretty set, usually. Which is fine. Makes it easier in some ways!

ATC Tuesday

Some stitched trees for a stitched card swap. Springtime colours!

ATC Friday

Another set of Round Robin cards - once again, ones which I started, and others finished off.  I always enjoy seeing what direction they will take - some are more apparent than others, like these ones with dancers. Some, like the more abstract ones, can go all kinds of crazy places.

ATC Tuesday

These cards are all for a library card catalogue swap - the host sent the players a selection of old style card catalogue cards, and we had to incorporate them somehow into our ATCs. This was fun - I enjoyed the challenge.

ATC Friday

Three more sets of RR cards, once again cards where I was the person who initiated the card - so you can see the finished version, and what I sent out to begin with.  What I use to make a "starter" card isusually influenced by what I have readily to hand - especially if I happen to have three of something.  Sometimes it's only a piece of interesting paper.  You can't be too attached to starters, as they often end up going down a theme you never imagined they would...

ATC Tuesday

These four cards are for the first leg of a dictionary swap - A, B, C.  Each card had to feature a dictionary definition, either from a real dictionary, or reprinted. I have an old dictionary that I picked up in a jumble sale, which I use for art purposes, so mine come from an actual dictionary. I did two A cards, so that the hostess can choose one to keep.

ATC Friday

Three sets of round robins here, where I started the card, and two others worked on it before it was done. So you can see the start and the finish...

ATC Tuesday

And another Pick-a-theme swap - this time we chose whether we wanted bright colours, pastels or greyscale, alongside our theme. So I made a bright card with an eye theme,

a greyscale card with a cat theme

a pastel card with a rabbit theme

and a bright zentangle card. I'm not great at zentangles, but I'll give it a go when requested.
