ATC Friday

A few finished ATCs - these were both sets on which I was the last person to add something.

Cross Stitch Update

More progress on this Hallowe'en mystery - you can see I've nearly finished the border that separates the left panel from the central panel. And soon on to the central panel. It won't be finished in time for Hallowe'en, but I might carry on with it after, nonetheless. I should really dig out last year's Hallowe'en mystery, but it doesn't appeal as much as this one, so I probably won't.

Trunk Show Tuesday

This one, I made as a 30th birthday present for my brother. That was back in 2002. I know this got a lot of use, the binding is pretty much completely gone now. Time to make him a new quilt, perhaps (they have others - there was a wedding quilt, a quilt from my dad's Hawaiian shirts and of course a baby quilt for my lovely niece...)

ATC Friday

These two sets of cards were ones started by me, and then worked on by two other people. So you can see the beginning and the end, but not the middle.

I love the crazy lady on this one - super addition!

Cross Stitch Update

Progress!  Nearly done with this section now - soon on to section two. I won't finish by Hallowe'en, but I might finish this year if I keep stitching at this rate. Touch wood.  The colour is much more accurate in this photo, taken in daylight.

A commission quilt for a friend's niece.

ATC Friday

Two more cards which make an interesting contrast, I think. In both of these cases, I was the middle person to work on the card - the first one came to me very full, and it was hard to find something to add to it, which would still allow space for another person to work on it.

I just added the "You Are Here" washi tape.

This is what it looked like when I got it!

With this one, it was almost empty when I got it - a complete contrast to the other one.

Cross Stitch Update

It's been a while since I did a cross stitch update - mainly for the reason that it's been a while since I stitched. Having purchased a three part Hallowe'en mystery, I thought I might have a go at that (never mind that I have last year's Hallowe'en mystery still 2/3 finished). This is not quite half of the first of three parts, so if I keep stitching at this rate, I might actually finish it before Christmas. Ok, probably not much chance of a Hallowe'en finish, but it's seasonal, which is nice. The colour in the photo is also terrible, as the blue flowers are actually green. Next week I shall try to photograph it in natural light...

Trunk Show Tuesday

Another old baby quilt, from another "baby" who is now at least 14 or 15.

Still coming...

Would you believe I still have a stack of pillows for my book corner? Another never ending project, though these are really quick and easy to do, so they aren't taking much of my time.

More shirt blocks

More blocks made from Ben's shirts. Slowly (very slowly) make progress with this project - the problem is that I don't really like working with shirt fabric (button downs are ok, it's the t-shirts I don't really like) so I never want to do lots of blocks at once. Plus, I'm always just really busy.  But it's getting there.

ATC Friday

A few more ATCs which I worked on as part of a round robin. Both of these sets were ones which I started, which means I made the background only. That round is where you have the least control over the direction the card will take, but that's kind of fun!

Trunk Show Tuesday

An old baby quilt - I don't really think 2001 is that long ago, until I realise that the baby for whom this was a birth present is turning 15 later this week. Time flies!

Some shirt blocks

A few more blocks for the rather delayed quilts I'm making for an old friend from her husband's shirts (mostly) - for her two sons. He died a few years back now, and I've had these shirts for way too long (since last summer) - so it's the top of my autumn To Do list in terms of sewing, I just never seem to do any sewing these days!  Four blocks doesn't seem like a great accomplishment, but I have to spent a lot of time deconstructing the shirts and stabilising, so it's not as quick as just cutting up fat quarters. Still, progress is being made. Slowly.

Yep, it's more cushions

My bookcorner seems to have a never-ending supply of cushions. Gradually, I am getting them all covered in interesting fabric. There are five more waiting at home, and three or four more still at school. But I have to say, the book corner looks awesome!
