Better photo of finished quilt!

My friend kindly took a photo of the quilt for me, without a rug in the background. I decided to blog it again, as I get so little sewing on my blog these days - may as well take advantage of it!

Finished Quilt!

Realised after taking this photo that it looks like it has a dark border around it, but that's just the rug it's laying on top of.  I can't re-photograph it because I gave it to a friend for Christmas...

ATC Friday

Round Robin cards which I started, and then two other players worked on.  It's often a bit of a mystery what theme will develop on this sort of card, unless it has a really obvious theme to start with...

ATC Tuesday

One of the new swapping crazes is for AT Coins - these are 2.5" circles, so they are a similar size to ATCs, but in a circle. This swap was an open theme - you could do anything you liked. It's a bit of a challenge, as the size is pretty small. But fun.

Advent Calendar, Day 25 (Baby Jesus in a Manger)

We aren't religious in our house, but we still love this little picture for Christmas Day (it's not like Jesus was actually born on 25 December anyway...).

Advent Calendar, Day 22 (Ornament)

Chose an ornament for today as we are going up to town later to see the Christmas decorations and windows, etc - I've already done the lights, so it had to be an ornament. The big question is what tomorrow will be - Monday and Tuesday are already set by tradition...

A bit of binding

Put some binding onto a quilt today so I can get it stitched down in the next week or two...finally, I have plans for this quilt, which has been sitting, quilted, in my house for a year or more.

Advent Calendar, Day 21 (Christmas Lights)

We went to some old family friends' house this evening, and they live in a road known locally for its colourful light displays, so the lights seemed the only apt choice. I actually put them up ages ago, but forgot to blog the photo until we got home...

ATC Friday

These are round robin cards, again - this time, ones where I was the second player. I added something to a card background someone else had made, then sent it to a third person to finish off. I really like how both of these came out.

Advent Calendar, Day 18 (Cardinal)

We actually don't have cardinals here, but as the original pattern is Canadian, there was one included, and I do miss them in winter,  so I went ahead and made one when I made this, all those years ago...

ATC Tuesday

More Hallowe'en swap cards - these are all House Shaped, and all of them open in some way, so I've shown the cards closed and open.

Advent Calendar, Day 16 (Christmas Tree)

So, guess what we did today... (Ok, to be fair, I mostly drove to and from Birmingham, but somewhere along the day, the tree did get put up - one of the advantages of having older kids...)

Advent Calendar, Day 15 (Gingerbread Man)

Today was Christmas baking day - Gingerbread Man always goes up on baking day.  Unless of course, we put the tree up on the same day, like we did last year - then it was really complicated!  Luckily, this year, the tree is going up tomorrow. Whew.

ATC Friday

Round robin cards - these are ones I started and two other players worked on. Fun to see what directions things take...

Advent Calendar, Day 14 (House)

One girl home, one to go...

Advent Calendar, Day 13 (Snowman)

No, it didn't snow (no such luck), but it's cold this morning and there's a fair bit of frost on the windscreens of the cars, so I thought it was time for Mr Snowman...

Advent Calendar, Day 11 (Father Christmas)

No particular reason for this one today, just because!

ATC Tuesday

So, it's nearly Christmas - what better time to show cards from a Hallowe'en swap or two?  These were from a swap called "Spooky Hallowe'en".
