Hawaiian Tops
Ta da - two of the four tops from the Hawaiian shirt fabrics. One of the others is already put together (the one I am keeping for myself) so it just remains to put the one with the log cabin blocks together - tomorrow, I think. I will now email my stepmom and see which of these she wants for herself, and which for my (step) grandmother so I can put the backings on and maybe start quilting. They are single bed sized quilts, more or less, so shouldn't be too hard to quilt. Not sure what I'm going to do yet for a pattern, though - maybe something with waves in it?

What wonderful quilts you have made from those Hawaiian shirts.
Wow you have been busy since I last dropped by. those quilts look quite interesting, I really wasnt sure how you were going to do them. Hope you keep your goals, i dont dare make any, I go day by day these days as too much changes when I dont expect it.
They are all lovely, Kate!
waves sounds like a clever quilting idea. maybe sailboats or anchors, too?
Great quilts Kate, and such a lovely way to remember your Dad. I'm sure they will be well loved and appreciated!
These are terrific quilts. They will be such treasures!
They look great, Kate. I'm sure that there'll be lots of good memories wrapped up in them.
Very, very nice, Kate. Lots of memories there; it's such a good idea
They are both lovely quilts and they are so different from one another.
What a great idea to use Hawaiian shirts. The 3 tops look great and so different from one another.
I like the zen range from Makower and bought quite a few too. As you said taupe but not so dear! Take care.
Wonderful shades of blue.
Great project. I love how that bit of red "zings it up".
