Scrappy squares


Yes, it's another block set assembled into a quilt top. I'm not sure this one really needs a border or not - it's a decent size already and the pieces at the edges aren't too small -but I could change my mind. For the time being, it will go in the drawer with the other tops awaiting borders. And now I'm down to 5 block sets - hoorah!

IMHO: whatever the size of the strip at the outside of each block, I think it needs an outside border that finishes to the current unfinished size those pieces. Does that make sense? I took many classes with Caroline Kearney of studio 55 creations...she always insisted that a 3.5 ruler was all one needs for comfortable borders on most quilts. So consider that also. I guess I think it needs something???

I like the top. Having made a quilt without borders I think they look good without. Either way it will be a pretty quilt.
