Thanks to everyone who commented - in the end I decided to add another row to balance the quilt. I'm too obsessive not to- plus I already had one of the QST blocks leftover, so I only had one to make. And it used 4 more string blocks!
Are you sure you don't want to add a border to extend those squares with their QST points? Kidding! I am glad you turned the asymmetric square into a nice symmetric rectangle ;-)
