Finished Applesauce

Here's the Criss-Cross Applesauce top all stitched together - I might well make this one again in other colours - I could see it with blues and yellow or orange in the place of the reds here... or other combos.

And this may not seem impressive to you, as it's an empty basket, but this is the basket that I keep my mending in. And sometimes some ironing, though I don't do a lot of that, and it tends to get sorted quite quickly, in between pressing quilting stuff. I'm pleased with myself as I tackled all the mending: buttons on one shirt and two pairs of trousers; two small holes fixed, the hem on a pair of shorts tacked up, and a shirt pocket mended.  Dull, dull, dull!  But at least it's done.

I used to save my mending for when my mother came to visit - about twice a year. Often, by the time she came, you kids had outgrown the garment that needed mending.

Unfortunately, you cannot save your mending until your mother comes to visit. Well, you could save it, but your mother doesn't even do her own mending, so probably wouldn't do yours! Love you anyway,
Mom

I think that any empty basket is exciting! I like that block design a lot too.

Applesauce looks wonderful. I like the colors in this one.

I am COMPLETELY impressed with an empty mending basket. It has to feel as good as an empty laundry basket!!!

Love the criss cross pattern... Too many ideas and just not enough time! :o)

I love the quilt AND the name! I'll have to remember that one for my burgeoning scrap-heap!
