Well, as I had more time than expected today (the trip to the airport took no time at all - no traffic) I decided to go ahead and cut up the fabric from yesterday and try something a little modern and funky with it. On the whole, I think I like it. Olivia also really likes it (her colours) so it may end up on the wall in their room - they have a space which is fairly well suited. Of course, it has to be quilted & bound first!

Oh I love it Kate! Gorgeous fabrics to start with but you are SO clever making something like that without a pattern!! I wish I could do that...
It is beautiful!
Happy New Year!
That is very pretty....the colors just "swirl" together very well.
Very nice Kate!
wow! you really dove into that piece...wonderful!
looks like your daughter is going to score! :)
Happy New Year!!!
It really looks very very good Kate. I am with your daughter, I love these colors. You where a lot quicker then I was. I expected to have a lot of sewing time yesterday, turned out that I had none :-( Hope to do better today. I have a Christmas quilt that is still not right but I want to have it finished asap. Happy New Year!
Great quilt and I love the fabrics.
Happy New Year to you and all the family
Love and hugs Gina xxx
I think it is lovely. It deserves to leapfrog to the top of your quilting and binding pile in clebration of a new quilting year.
Best for 2010.

Glad you got some sewing time after I left. You sure didn't have a lot of free time that I noticed while I was visiting. The mini-quilt is beautiful. I'm not sure where you will put it in the girls' room, but it is just perfect with the walls there.

OOOH! I love it but then I am in lots of colors anyway. It sure didn't take you long to get that gorgeous quilt together.
