Black & White & Bright

You may remember yesterday I said I had cut out 144, 2.5" black and black and white squares - well, this is what they were for - first I sewed them into a background (see below) and then I added some rather random shapes in different bright hand-dyes on top. The shapes are just fused at the moment, but I'll sew them down during the quilting process, so they'll stay stuck. The piece is (in case you don't want to do the maths) 24" square and will be for a swap.

Amazing! More amazing is how much sewing you always seem to get done!

On its own the black and white worked as a quilt but you have taken it up a notch into something really exciting! Thank you for once again inspiring me and reminding me that things don't have to be finished when the piecing's done!

That's very cool, Kate! I may borrow your idea for a larger quilt, if you don't mind!

Really love the contrast of the bright curvy shapes against the squared black and white background. Another great little quilt!

What a great background all that white and black makes. Such a lovely way to highlight the fun `bright colors.
