Over a year ago--and quite by accident--I grew weary of the accumulation of orphan blocks in my life. Class samples, first tries, etc: too memory-laden or sweet to toss, but with no real purpose. I now have a box (like your scrap basket) into which I toss them as they appear, and I find it easy to occasionally match one with scrap fabric and sew it up. Stuffing and a button or bead finish it off. I now have a basket of over two dozen ranging in size from two to six inches, and they include leftover Dear Jane blocks, wee fourpatch from miniature quilts, almost every one carries a memory of a class or a quilt done for someone. They make great gifts, and can even be mailed without the stuffing (a possible future swap??) Your orphans are great candidates!!!

I recognise these from block lotto. Looking good together
