These are the blocks I made on the Project Linus day, back ages ago in the Spring. Finally got around to putting them together. I have several other sets of purple blocks inspired by that day, but they'll have to wait a little while before being put together...

Well, if we looked the words up, they wouldn't be the same.....but as you talk about the mending, you do seem to bring to the table all the talents and skills which you bring to "sewing," and you even seem to derive some of the same pleasures. Mending pile? String bag?....your approach to each is the same!!!! Fun to watch.
Those purples are going to make someone really happy!
