My friend kindly took a photo of the quilt for me, without a rug in the background. I decided to blog it again, as I get so little sewing on my blog these days - may as well take advantage of it!

Finished Quilt!
Realised after taking this photo that it looks like it has a dark border around it, but that's just the rug it's laying on top of. I can't re-photograph it because I gave it to a friend for Christmas...

A bit of binding
Put some binding onto a quilt today so I can get it stitched down in the next week or two...finally, I have plans for this quilt, which has been sitting, quilted, in my house for a year or more.

Quilt back from the longarmer
So, here's a quilt top which has been knocking about for a while. I finally got around to passing it to my longarmer friend for quilting and...ta da! Doesn't it look pretty? Now I just need to bind it. When I have some time, ha ha.

Autumnal Wedding Quilt
Finally got the binding on this quilt - the friend who its for is getting married this week, but Geoff is away in Lisbon, so won't see her until after that. Shame he's away; we could have gone to the wedding. But anyway, I'm sure she won't mind getting the quilt after the wedding...
My longarmer just happened to have a pattern with pumpkins and leaves, which suited this one perfectly.

Stained Glass Quilt - hanging
Well, here it is - hanging at Sandown Quilt Show. It's back in my house now, hanging for the time being (I have one good space where I can hang a larger quilt). I have other things I have to rotate it with, but for the moment, I'm enjoying it on my wall!

Stained Glass Quilt - finished and ready to hang
I showed this before when it had been quilted, but not bound - the binding is now on, and it's ready to hang. Nice to finish something!

Stained Glass Quilt
Here's another recent finish (well, not quite finished yet - I do have to sew the binding on). This top has been together for a while, but I finally took it to my friend who is a longarm quilter (Lana at Bewitching Stitching) and she suggested we put it in Sandown Quilt Show, so she quilted it straight away and now I just have to stitch the binding down. Hopefully, I'll remember to take another photo of it hanging at the show.

Finished Stars!
Binding on, just in time to give to our friends who got married a while back. This isn't a bed quilt, but rather a large lap sized snuggle quilt. Hopefully it will get good use...

Binding on (well, partway)
So, I finally got some binding stitched on to this quilt - only took me...a bunch of weeks. Of course, now I have to stitch it down, but I don't need it for a few weeks yet, so I have time...

Scrappy Stars
A quilt which has been waiting to be quilted for a long time - but decided that it would make a good gift for a friend who got married a while back. Now I just need to get some binding on it...

Yes, another finished quilt
Amazing, I know. This one is also a wedding present, for someone who has already got married (without really telling anyone in advance) - but Geoff is going to see him in person, soon, so it seemed a good time to give a quilt. The blocks in this one are from a win in the Block Lotto some time back.

Oriental Lantern Quilt - finished
OMG, I know. Actual sewing type work. Crazy, isn't it! Not sure what's worse at the moment - the lack of time for sewing or the lack of time for blogging about anything. Close run thing. This will be a wedding present for a wedding Geoff and Sarah are going to in early July - I can't go, as I am still in school until mid July, and it's in Germany, so it's a bit far away to drive up for the weekend. Oh well!
These blocks were from a swap many years ago and have been made into a top for quite a while as well, though it's taken me ages to get around to doing anything more with them. I have so little time for making quilts these days that I am actually beginning to make a dent in my stash of quilt tops. This is probably a good thing.

Binding on
Made some binding today for the next wedding quilt. Stitched it on. Of course, I have to stitch it down by hand now, but luckily I have a quilt group meeting this week as well as the usual evening time watching television in which to do this...

Wedding present
Here's another thing I've been working on - finishing off the binding on this quilt - the quilt itself has been around for a while, but I finished it off as a wedding present for my nephew & his wife, who got married today in her home town in The Netherlands. (He's from Australia; they will live in Australia at least for the time being.) Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the wedding, but Geoff is there, hopefully having my share of the good times as well as his own...

Binding on
Another less thrilling job - making binding and putting it on a quilt, to be handstitched down. This is another wedding present, this one for a wedding in April, so I guess it's about time the binding was sorted! (It's not until late April, so I'm ok for time...)

Backing ready to go
Very exciting sewing - a backing seamed together ready to go with a quilt to the longarmer. This will be a wedding present for a friend getting married this summer. Ok, not the most exciting bit of sewing ever - putting backing together - but an essential step towards a finished product. And the backing fabric is great.

And finally...
Here's the second of the shirt quilts - the binding on this one is very similar to the other - only it's black rather than navy. These are heading off home this week, hurrah! I think the new owners will be really pleased with how they came out.

One down, one to go
Finally finished attaching the binding to this quilt - took ages, partly because I haven't been watching much telly this week and partly because my fingers were really hurting - I think the fabric might be a bit thick or something. Anyway, hopefully the other one will go a little faster!

A quick longarm job...
Ok, not so much. Lana (my longarm friend, who is Bewitching Stitching) and I reckon she's had this one in her cupboard for about two years. But because she is local and we are friends, what I do is take her a pile of non-urgent stuff, to be spaced out over a number of months. And then, what I frequently do is bring her other stuff which has to be finished to deadlines in between, so the backup stuff gets shoved to the bottom of the pile. Anyway. This top is ancient and that was before it sat at her house for two years. But now, it's quilted And if I put some binding on it, it will make an excellent present for someone, on some occasion.
