Scrappy Dreams: The Top

Well, here's what it looks like put together into a top - it definitely works. I think the solids are a must - otherwise it would be just too busy, but the brightness of the many different scraps does fine - doesn't matter that there are so many different ones.

This is a single block unit, in case you are having trouble visualising it - each block has one long rectangle and down one side, and three smaller rectangles making up the other half of the block. Two of the smaller rectangles are the same; the third is different.

That's a wonderful block and a great use of scraps.

I never doubted it was going to be great. This would be a good pattern to use up scraps each month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

great pattern, great fabric choices, great layout. I don't think it requires a border....hope I am right.

The solids definitely hold everything together, and yet let the scrappiness of the other fabrics come through. This pattern has been on my "to do" list for years. Perhaps 2015 will be the year it comes to life in my quilting room.....maybe :)
