This definitely works better - stitching the blocks together so that the browns cross the blocks rather than the scrappy blue. Wish I'd done the other one this was as well...
This is like one of those crazy visual puzzles: "Can you see the urn? Can you see the woman's head?" Truthfully, I like the first arrangement best! The tan pops to outline the blues there, while the second one seems a muddle. Go figure! Either way, it's a nice little quilt.

I have to agree - this one is a nicer layout than the other (that's not to say the other is horrible!)
I like it...looks like a single Scrappy Irish Chain :o)
Nice layout and pleasing colors. I also like your other textile projects, especially your cross stitch.
