Purple block top, with stripes

Here's a purple themed top for Project Linus; I'd been putting off adding the border to this one because I knew the stripe would look better mitred.  It's not that it's particularly hard to mitre a border, but it does take more effort than straight borders...

Red & Brown blocks bordered

Another top centre, now bordered from the stash of Project Linus fabrics I took away with me on my last visit to my coordinator. Only a few left in my pile (though I've added some new centres which I will need to pair up with borders, soon).

Binding on and waiting

...though it will have to wait until I finish the binding on the other quilt. This one isn't needed for a few weeks yet, though, so that's ok.

Baby quilts...one down

This one has now been quilted - I can show it because I'm not Facebook friends with the person who it's for (Olivia's flute teacher), so she can't secretly see it in advance...  I just did wavy lines across in both directions, with some little asterisks thrown in, to mimic the pattern. When she got married a few years ago, I gave her a red & white quilt (she's very fond of red) so this baby quilt top I had in stash seemed perfect!

ATC Friday... birds in!

I often show cards I've made for swaps, but not so often, the ones I've received. These are the cards I got in a recent PAT (pick a theme) swap; the theme I chose was black birds (any bird which is black). As you can see, the cards I received were very varied in interpretation - great stuff!

It's a wonder I can get any work done...

Things do seem to accumulate on my work surface - admittedly, most of them are mine... A quilt to bind, a quilt to quilt, two bags of projects (baby quilt to make; tree skirt to make), ironing & mending on the back of the chair (and a dressing up costume for world book day to quickly alter).  And a number of other things, which may simply need putting away, or may be waiting for action, too!

Cross stitch update

More of Alice - steadily growing. Haven't touched it much this week, I admit - and next week might not be better, as I have some binding to attach. We'll see.

Whole lotta letters

Something a little different - a huge load of letters, received in the post. A friend of mine who does a lot of scrapbooking/canvases/cards/layouts, including design team work for several organisations, was having a clearout, and I jumped at the chance to give these a home. Some of them may end up being a little large for the kind of thing I normally do (ATCs and other small works) but as I tend to use single, often small, words, I think most of it will come in very handy. 

Quilty Glimpse

Here's a little glimpse of the latest (and last!) of the 18th birthday present quilts for Sarah's mates - this one needs to be finished by the 11th, so it was about time I got the binding attached.  A few evenings of stitching should get that binding sorted, though, so not to worry... Full pictures once it's made it to its destination.

Scrappy Double Fours

Another block set which I've now assembled into the start of a top. Again, a border will be wanted, so it's going into the box where I keep the tops awaiting borders. (As opposed to the block set box, or the box of tops with borders waiting to go to my Project Linus contact....)

Purple Linus HST Blocks

The final set of purple themed blocks I made for Project Linus - the first I started at a Linus day ages ago, and when I came home, I made lots more purple blocks - I had taken away quite a bit of purple with me (apparently it's a very popular colour in Linus quilts and is requested a lot). This is the final set of blocks to be put into a top centre. It will still want a border, so it's in that pile for the moment...

Another few sets which I finished off, adding the final element(s) before sending cards back to the other players...

Another border fabric pulled from the stash Liz from Project Linus gave to me for bordering purposes - this one to go around a rather busy crumb top.

Another quilt to which I added a border - one more for the Linus pile.

Scrap update

...and here's the state of the scrap basket/strip bag at the end of the recent clearout & block making fest. Ok, there's some stuff there, but I probably now have at least 6 months worth of space to put new scraps in again before it all gets out of control. Which is nice!

Block Set Update

So, I seem to be accumulating a load of block sets - guess it's about time to stitch some of them together!  Maybe that should go on my list of Things to Do...

Some more strippy blocks

...so that's what you do when you have lots of strips leftover from whatever you've been doing with your strips. Or at least, that's what I do in that circumstance. I'll add these to my already existing stash of strippy blocks and then eventually, in the fullness of time, do something with them.

Baby Quilts waiting

A couple of baby quilt tops waiting to be stitched up for people with upcoming babies - plus I have another one to make with fabric specially purchased. Probably need to start working quite soon, though the first one isn't needed until the end of March so it's not full panic mode yet...

ATC Friday

Some more finished ATCs - these are ones which I started, so the original background is shown below the finished item. I assume with this top one that the maker added the initials of the three makers, but I only got a "K" so I can't be 100 per cent sure...
