Some finished round robins

Waiting for me at home were a number of finished round robins - some, like this one, which I had started

and this one, which started like this:

And some, like this one, which I was the second player on - here's the other two stages of the card:

when it came to me

and after I added to it.

This one, I forgot to photograph before I worked on it, but here's how it looked after two rounds:

And finally, this one, which I really like - it came to me like this:

And left looking like this:

I think this last one is a great example of what collaboration can do for a card - it's fantastic, isn't it? Which isn't to say I don't like the other ones, but this one works particularly well...

Some more starters

Again, these two sets are just backgrounds, to which people can add something. I'll try to post the finished product when I get them back.  I need to get myself organised and keep a folder of photos of all the starters I've sent out so I can easily find them once the finished cards come home...

Abstract torn paper

These cards are for a swap - you had to use only torn paper (no cutting) in shades of orange and yellow. The colours don't show brilliantly here, but the cards came out fairly well, I think.

Still more ATCs...

Anyone regularly reading this blog will no doubt notice that I really like words on my cards...

Here's another set with words on them.

And yes, more ATCs...

The only regret about my long holiday in the US is not very much sewing - though I had lots of time for other art - mostly ATCs - as you can no doubt tell!

I am often attracted to pieces of paper which are very busy in and of themselves, but then they are hard to use in art - the background on these cards are a case in point...

Round Robins...

Three sets of round robin cards I've worked on - these with the birdcage, I added a nice brad and a jewel

to the starter, and then sent them on to a third player.

These, I added a  sentence and a large metal charm and sent them to a third person.

And on these undersea themed cards, I was the third person, so I added some little tiny seashells to them.

Home-themed ATCs

Another group of ATCs made for general trading while on holiday - amazing how much more time there is when you aren't at home with a list of stuff which needs to be done hanging over you!

Finished Round Robins

These two cards came home recently - they were both my starters. I looked, but don't seem to have a photo of the background I sent out (or at least, there might be one at home, but there wasn't one I could find on my blog). The top one had the dark red background and the flower/lace strip when I sent it out.

The bottom one had the lightning bolt and the wishing on a star strip, and that was it.

And some more ATCs...

Just for variety!

It's been a very productive summer, for ATCs at least (not much sewing).

Probably once I get back home I will have a lot less time for these things, so it's nice I got a lot done while on holiday.

Spotted!

Wholecloth quilt spotted in Cracker Barrel last night while waiting for a table for dinner. I forgot to check how much it costs - probably not enough!

Cross-stitch update

Well, I did actually manage to begin the herb sampler so I do have something to show!  This box is nearly finished - a few more stems and flowers and of course, the rest of the box, which I didn't do first, not because it's boring (which it is) but because I only had a tiny bit of the right colour thread and had to buy more...

ATC Swaps

A few more sets of cards, these made for specific swaps. The top ones were for a black and white themed swap, abstract, with texture and a small hint of another colour. The texture doesn't show a lot in these cards, but they came out fun, I think.

These cards are for an APC swap - butterfly theme, Kings. I am going to try to join all the swaps for the deck (I've done Aces already) so that by the end, I will have an entire APC deck with a butterfly theme.  The five of spades is a hostess card.

Round Robin Backgrounds

As many of the artists I work with on ATCs are in the US, I've been taking advantage of being here to make lots of backgrounds to send out (the postage is much cheaper, and of course I have more time to work). Here are some of the backgrounds I've sent along - two other artists will work on these before they come back to me...

As you might be able to tell, I got a crow stamp!
